I had my review today at work. Its the fifth one i have had which means i have been there 5 years. It is the longest i have worked at one place. Many times i thought i'd go insane, crack up and leave. Believe me, there were many times the thought crept into my mind. But, i have stuck with it and i'm glad i did.
1. I work with some of the most talented, smart, creative people anywhere.
2. I have a ton of freedom to manage the way I want.
3. Relatively flexible schedule – no one stresses on me coming in at 9:15
4. Incredibly cool upper management (i can say this without kissing ass because none of them blog)
5. Great raises and a promotion.
6. No ties! (well, i am supposed to wear one but never do)
When you are young it is easy to fall into a mode where you feel like you need to change the world in order to be happy at work. Then i think as you grow older you learn to accept that you should just be thankful to have your job even if it isn't what you want. I guess i have the best of both worlds because i truly feel like some (not all by any means) of the stuff I am working on can change the world, at least the world of marketing. Oh yeah, and i am happy to have a job!
Very, very, very proud of you! Some very insightful and astute observations in this.
“Great raises”…where do you work?
you never answered me…so I am thinking you are not too happy I found out your were blogging again!
Blah, i dont care that you ‘found’ me lol. It is nice to see comments every once in awhile
