Today i learned the difference between a trade secret and a patent and all about patent applications in general. I wonder why? Hmm.
Anyway, work has been fun lately *evil grin* and just in general things are going pretty well in my life right now professonally. I'm happy and i'll leave it at that. Just stuff that you'd read maybe one of those good fortune cookies you always open and then discard going "bah this is a load of crap!"
Been playing a bit with my new phone, a Treo 650. I always wanted one and finally got sick of my piece of crap Alltel phone. Basically the same Motorola phone that i have had for like a year now from Alltel broke 2 or 3 times. I had enough so i decided that i would splurge and upgrade it. I went to Alltel, where i had been a customer for about 8 years and told them i wanted to "step up" to a Razr. Saw it on sale online and in their store for $99 and even though $99 for a cell phone is kind of a lot for me (i know some people who spend $600+ and i think they are nuts) i figured whatever, i deserve it. So i was already to get switched over when the sales guy told me the price would be $400. WHAT? Appears that Alltel values new business more than current business and the sale price was only for people walking in off the street who had never been a customer. Said fuck it, cancel my service. Drove down the street to Sprint and spent $399 on a Treo. Yeah, i showed them! But at least now i can talk to people on the phone and have them not go.. "Hello? Anyone there? I can't hear you!" Oh and i can take videos too!
What else? I listened to California Dreaming by the Mamas and Papas like 58x today and annoyed the shit out of my coworkers. Such-A-Great-Song in my opinion. I just love the backup singers voices. Haunting. I might be the only 'oldie' that i actually care for.
Well, bully for you! You showed ‘em! We have been customers with Verizon (Cingular, before them), and this past month, our bill was over $200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insane. We went round and round with them and basically got nowhere!
Good luck at Google!
